Ray of Hope Again....

Someone’s crying

Can’t you hear the pain

Something inside is breaking

And it might not heal again

Lost and hopeless

Where to go from here

No reason to try again

‘cause there was nothing else clear

She just fell apart

Had nothing else to give

Ev’ry vision had shattered

Without a cause left to live

Just a prisoner

She alone to blame

Her whole heart in shambles

And her soul was held in chains

Someone’s crying

Can’t you hear the pain

Something inside is breaking

The future is gone again

Doors closed and bolted

Lights had been shut off

The darkness was oppressive

And she couldn’t shake it off

Now she was empty

And without a plan

Now was the time to claim her

Lift her gently by the hand

The Savior then arrived

Caught her tenderly

Wrapped His arms around her

Said “I’ve come to set you free”

“You’re not forgotten

I will take your place”

Then He whispered in her ear

“This is love and perfect grace”

Someone’s crying

Can’t you hear the pain

Something inside is breaking

Jesus will heal it again

He said He loved her

And would take her blame

At first she was suspicious

It was such a wild claim

Then she saw His scars

And remembered now

Stories of a God who died

And she’d been told just how

Slowly she gave in

Then she broke down

And her heart gave way to tears

From the strain of what this crowned

But then she was filled

By a sense of fervent hope

Her burdens then were lifted

Her life had a whole new scope

Someone’s crying

Can’t you hear the pain

Something inside is breaking

Yet there’s a ray of hope again

...Yet there’s a ray of hope again

  1. thank you, I wrote it one day as it just sort of came to me...that's how my poetry usually works!

I'm glad you stopped by! Part of the fun for me in blogging is hearing from those who come to visit. If you want to comment or have additional thoughts I'd love to hear them. This is my rambling spot, so everything might not be clearly stated. Please keep everything positive and Christ-honoring. And thought-provoking discussions are welcome! Thanks!
