By God's grace...

Well, I was trying to decide if I would really publish this post, and since you're seeing it, you know the answer. I'm not looking for all sorts of condolences, pity or anything. I'm putting this here because through it my Maker and Lord can be glorified. He indeed has a might hand.
I had a car wreck the other day. Hit a slick spot in the road, lost control, and ended up spinning off the highway into a ditch...on the opposite side of the road and facing the direction from which I'd come. I was stopped by a fence line full of trees. Needless to say the car was damaged, in fact totaled and undrivable. The back windshield was gone, the trunk had been jacked up, the right rear quarter panel smashed against the wheel, the passenger window shattered, the right front quarter panel and door dented in, one of the wheels messed up, multiple things. The car won't even run......and I got out uninjured. Well my neck was out of place, and the chiropractor fixed that, but otherwise I have no injuries....at all. I'm kinda sore and stiff, but not even any bruises. It was by God's grace that I wasn't injured. I don't know why not, but I do know that in the midst of everything that happened in those few terrifying seconds He placed His hand on me. He's not done with me yet. This is the second accident I've had, and in the first I got a hairline fracture in my nose and had two black eyes, but otherwise, I was uninjured. My mind keeps going back to what happened, keeps thinking about the damage I caused, keeps wondering how I'm going to pay for it, keeps wondering what my family will do without that car......but I need to turn to the fact that God protected me, that despite everything that happened I can say, "God is good." He preserved my life. Whether in either case it would have been likely that I could have been killed or severely injured I don't know. If the driver side of the car had hit the fence line this time I would have gotten hurt for sure, but it didn't. Even though I had lost control, God was still in control of the situation. Everyone keeps telling me that the most important thing is that I'm alive and uninjured, the car is replaceable. God is in control of my life and in this case even I turn to Him and say, "thank you. You know the course You have set for my life and You will protect me. God is gracious to me. I don't deserve the care He gives to me. Truly must His name be glorified." I'm putting some of the picture of the car below. When you see them truly you must know that God must be praised for my safety. It was His hand that prevented my injury:

trunk jacked funny

rear windshield gone

smashed right rear quarter panel

smashed section and absence of windshield
dented passenger door without window or mirror
smashed over the right front tiredented and jammed over the rear wheel

but the driver side is practically unmarked.....

I'm glad you stopped by! Part of the fun for me in blogging is hearing from those who come to visit. If you want to comment or have additional thoughts I'd love to hear them. This is my rambling spot, so everything might not be clearly stated. Please keep it positive and Christ-honoring, but thought-provoking discussions are welcome! Quite honestly I'd be delighted if everybody who stopped by left a note.
